Bring on the candles (and cake)!

Have you ever really wanted to try a new technique or project but have been to scared to try it? Well, that was me with a side step card but I am so happy I did! Don't get me wrong, it is a bit time consuming but the end result is so worth it!

I used a bunch of different stamp sets to get this card--Label Love, Bring on the Cake, and Road to Happiness. I'm hosting a fancy fold card class in November, and this card will be one of the cards attendees will make. Along with getting 5 different folding cards, all the attendees will also receive a template to recreate them at home.

Here is some close ups of both the steps and base  of the card.

And of course, the side angle...
I am sure I will be making more of these adorable side step cards....do you want the template? Attend my card class in November and it will be included in your class fee. Rainbow of in-colors

It's a rainbow of Stampin' Up in-colors...I love these new colors that were introduced in the new idea book and catalog. This beauty will be one of the five cards that we will be making at my August 18th card class featuring the new in-colors.

In addition to leaving with five one of a kind cards you will also receive 1 sheet of each of the new in-colors to create at home with.

Washi Tape

I absolutely love washi tape, and I must admit at first, I was on the fence about the product. After creating some cards for my upcoming washi tape class--Sunday, September 15th--I'm in love! Its a super easy way to add some dimension to your project.

This card is the perfect baby card--neutral too. With all the buzz about the royal baby, I thought I'd come up with a card to welcome a new little one into your world....may not be royalty but just as special to you!

Tag it

I am back from Stampin' Up convention 2013 and am so happy I went! I learned a lot of things and came home with about 7 pounds of FREE stamps and products...woo hoo! One of the new stamp sets I received is Tag it, which is the Ronald McDonald stamp set in the catalog. With every stamp set purchased, Stampin' Up will donate $3 to Ronald McDonald charities.

Besides being a great company to work for, Shelli Gardner (CEO and founder of Stampin' Up) and the company are very generous and give back to the community whenever they can. I am proud to be part of such a caring company.

I used "Tag it" to create one of the five cards we will be using at my next card class on the 18th of August. The class will focus on the new in colors, and each attendee will receive one sheet of each of the 5 new in-colors (pistachio pudding, baked brown sugar, strawberry slush, coastal cabana, and crisp cantaloupe).

For a complete listing of all my events visit my website at www.stampwithlora.stampinup.net or my face book page at www.facebook.com/handmadecreationsbylora.

One more before Convention 2013....

It's been a little bit since my last post. I've been very busy getting ready for Stampin' Up convention 2013. I leave on Thursday and can't wait for all the fun, and great ideas and products I will learn about in the beautiful city of Salt Lake City.

I am participating in a shoebox on Saturday night and had to come up with a card for it! Here is my creation:

Not only does it use the new stamp set--A Round Array--it also uses some of the new colors Stampin' Up introduced with this year's catalog (smoky slate, crisp cantaloupe, and coastal cabana).

This will also be one of the card you make at my card class on Sunday, August 18th using the new colors!

Stay creative while I'm gone, and remember my promotion starting Thursday, July 18th through Monday, July 22nd. We are celebrating Stampin' Up's 25th anniversary, and you are included. For any online order you place during that time period, you will be entered to win a $25 gift certificate good toward more merchandise OR toward class fees etc. For every $25 you spend (before shipping and tax), you get one chance toward the certificate. The more you buy, the better your chances.

CD scrapbook

I am fortunate enough to be able to bring craft classes to creative little people about once a month at the Hawthorn Woods Park District. My next class which is this Thursday, we will be making a CD scrapbook! Its the perfect project to display pictures of special people, occasions or events.

This is the front cover of the CD case--both the front and back are covered by designer series paper, with a ribbon wrapped around it to keep the CD closed when all its contents are put in place.

This is the inside of the CD case--it holds  a total of 11 pictures. I can't wait to see what all my creative crafters create on Thursday!

Six Sided Sampler...again!

I really love the new stamp set from the Stampin' Up catalog--six sided sampler! I chose it to use in a new stamp set swap for convention this year! I can't believe its only a short 17 days away. I haven't been to convention in 5 years, and I can't wait to see the new surprises and products Stampin' Up has in store for all its demonstrators!

This card will be my submission for a swap that I signed up for at convention.
I also used the new designer series paper soho subway and the hex punch in the catalog.
